The dealer has reprogrammed the shifter - alert came back day later. Turned out under the shifter assembly and center console, there are dual ground eyelets. Mine were not tightend to spec. Tech put on a scanner, with in 1 hour had the issue solved and tightend the eyelets to the ground bolt.I then tried turning it to Drive and same thing just a blinking D. I then tried going to Park (which was possible and tried turning the vehicle off, but on the EVIC the message popped up "Vehicle Not in Park". It would not allow the push button ignition to go to "Off", but the engine did actually turn off.
