This weekend I had an opportunity to visit one of my old haunts. East Olympia, WA. I noticed there is a speed board posted there which reads K-35. I am familiar with P,T and F speed boards, what the hell is K?On March 9, 1997 I made the 15-hour trip from Monterrey to Durango on NdeM Train 175-180-88. From Monterrey to Torreón our train was made up of NDM GP35 8254, ABOX 50017, express car NDM 1517 and Segunda coach NDM 4609.The Desert Wind and Pioneer should be restored, ideally with through car service for Portland exchanged at Salt Lake. Now, no one is going to ride all the way from L.A. to Portland via that routing, but people might ride Las Vegas to Boise or from the I.E. to eastern Idaho.
