Then fill the tank with gas and make sure fuel flows freely from the end of the hose that connects to the inlet side of your new fuel pump. If the gas flows free then all is well there. Install a new fuel line between the pump and the carb. Start the engine and report back here. 1.The diode is in the wire from the stator. There are two wires one to the lights one to charge. They travel in a plastic sleeve from the engine to a connector. The diode is back inside that sleeve (see pic) You should have 14.5 or more volts when running. No need to remove the pto pulley. Remove the 2 bolts holding the brake pad on. Then the belt will come off. To put the brake back on apply the pto. Place a business card between the brake pad and the pto bell. Hold it tight and tighten the bolts. Release the pto and remove business card. Ready to go.
