Usually they will start moving when I begin lowering the tailgate but not always. If they dont start they always will if I reopen the tailgate some.

What's the Pro's and Cons to the 640, 644, or 648 New Holland's. I am on a budget of $8500 so looking for something that is a good stepping stone or if its a newer baler like a 648 I might keep it a few more years then buy a different baler. I do bale meadow hay and ditches also a little alfalfa. And in the fall do about 100-200 corn stalk bales.Bale density has never been adjusted for 13 years that I have had it, and density seemed good last year. This year, not so good. Bales are soft. Looking at the operators manual and checking the baler, there is what looks like a density hydraulic cylinder and an adjustment knob. Manual says when tailgate is up the gauge should show pressure.Seemed to help the problem. I think sharping the knife will help in the wrapping process. Also baling with dew helps, most all problems I ever had with my Deere 567 was when crop was totally bone dry. Would rip net, and send it to top roller. The new Holland if it ever rips it, just goes to steel starter roll, every easy to get off. Troubleshooting Tip: Check the battery, wiring, and connections for any signs of damage. Ensure the battery is charged and connections are secure. Fuel System Problems: Description: Issues in the fuel system can impede the proper functioning of the baler.
