I try to buy ammo when its on sale.The slide stop is definitely not seated in all the way. Press the slide release. Line up the slide stop with the smaller notch on the slide, that's the point which you'll be able to push it in and then bam. Take your slide stop out again. Line up the barrel lug and the slide holes, make sure to physically see it.
